I believe deeply in the significance of how we bring new life into the world. I also recognize that expecting parents often face common challenges and uncertainties throughout this transformative journey. Whether you are stepping into parenthood for the first time or welcoming your fifth child, the process can feel overwhelming, marked by an inundation of information from various sources, and notably, a lack of guidance from medical providers on achieving a positive birth experience. This can leave you feeling uncertain about what’s truly beneficial. As an experienced certified birth doula, my motivation is to be your trusted friend, advocate, and protector, addressing the challenges of navigating through the sea of information and the gaps in guidance from medical providers. From the moment I join your birth team until the postpartum period, I am dedicated to offering you continuous emotional, physical, and informational support, guiding you through the uncertainties to ensure a confident and joyous birth experience.

Who am I?

I am a proud West Seattle native, and alongside my husband, we’re raising four wonderful children. My path to becoming a doula is rooted in my own experience as a mother. Like many, I faced moments in childbirth where I felt unprepared, uncertain, and weighed down by self-doubt. These experiences left me yearning for a different way. Then, a surprise blessing graced our lives! When I found out I was pregnant with our fourth child I was determined to create an empowering birthing experience. I devoted my time to research and self-discovery. The transformation between my prior births and the last one was truly incredible. As time passed, my passion for all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum only grew stronger. Though our family had no plans for expanding, I realized that I had gathered a treasure trove of knowledge and experiences that could support other expecting mothers. Guided by faith, I prayerfully embraced the role of a doula. My mission is straightforward: it’s all about YOU and your unique journey into parenthood. Regardless of how you envision your ideal birth, I’m here to be your guide and companion on this transformative journey.

    2. Make decisions for you. I will help you get the information necessary to make an informed decision. I will also remind you if there is a departure from your birth wish list.

    3. Speak to the staff on your behalf. I will discuss concerns with you and suggest options, but you or your support persons will speak directly to the clinical staff.

Prenatal Visits

When you choose me as your doula, you embark on a journey that includes two personalized in-person prenatal appointments, right in the comfort of your own home. Each of these appointments typically lasts about two hours, providing us with ample time to connect and create a strong foundation. During these visits, it's not just about getting to know each other; it's about building a cohesive birthing team. I encourage any other individuals who will be part of your birthing experience to attend these meetings. Together, we can start forging the bonds of teamwork and collaboration. During our time together, we'll dive into your priorities, explore any fears or concerns, and discuss how we can all best support your birthing journey. With this knowledge in hand, we'll craft your birthing wish list, ensuring that your desires and goals are at the forefront. But that's not all – we'll also delve into relaxation exercises, effective breathing strategies, and essential labor positions and movements. This preparation ensures that when the moment of labor arrives, both you and your support team will feel confident, ready, and empowered to embrace this beautiful experience. As your dedicated doula, I'm committed to being there for you every step of the way. You can reach out to me through email, text, or schedule a phone call at your convenience throughout your pregnancy. Whether it's discussing your prenatal care appointments or addressing any questions or concerns, I'm here to provide support and guidance.

Labor Support

When labor begins and you invite me to join you at your chosen birthing location, know that I'm dedicated to remaining at your side throughout this transformative experience. I bring to your side a wealth of professional training, knowledge, and experience to ensure your comfort and confidence. During labor, my role is to provide unwavering emotional support, physical comfort, and help you communicate clearly with the medical staff. I aim to equip you with the information you need to make informed decisions as they arise during labor. Whether it's offering reassurance, providing a different perspective, suggesting techniques for labor progress, or assisting with relaxation and soothing touch, I'm here for you. It's important to note that I am independent and self-employed. As your doula, I work exclusively for you and your well-being, prioritizing your needs and desires throughout your birthing experience, regardless of your chosen care provider or birthing location.
